ABSTRACT

In this study, a standard structural model was developed based on the standard hydrodynamic model developed by Korea Research Institute of Ships and Ocean Engineering for public use with academia and industry. Scantling was performed for the initial structural design followed by numerical modeling of the whole structure. Prior to the numerical analysis, a long-term analysis was performed to calculate the design wave for the design load parameter. A global strength analysis of ship and an evaluation were performed according to the traditional offshore structure design process, and finally a structural model that satisfies structural strength evaluation criteria was designed. As a result of structural strength evaluation, a lower stress result was obtained compared to the yield strength. So it is necessary to perform an optimized structural reinforcement plan to prevent excessive design. Also, structural safety will be reviewed for various loading conditions and more design load parameters.
