ABSTRACT

The vehicle ramp plays a vital role in the transportation, loading and unloading process of Ro-Ro vessels. The study of the mechanical behavior of the vehicle moving on the ramp is beneficial to the optimal design of the structure. In this paper, a Ro-Ro ship vehicle ramp is taken to analyze the moving characteristics of the vehicle load. The dynamic response of the ramp under the moving vehicle load is calculated by the numerical method. Based on the calculation, the deflections along the length of the ramp at different instants are discussed, and the locations of structural areas with high stresses are identified and analyzed, which provide useful reference for the design optimization of the ramp structures.
