ABSTRACT

The concept of work-life balance (WLB) is gaining deliberation among employees working in India, and the menace of imbalance is perceptible. This chapter examines WLB and Life satisfaction among Information Technology and Retail sector employees. There is a significant contrast in levels of WLB as well as life satisfaction among both IT as well as Retail sector employees. Likewise, significant differences across genders were found in WLB and life satisfaction. The men employees reported higher levels of WLB, whereas women revealed more preeminent life satisfaction. The gender and employment sector do not have any interaction effect on the degrees of both WLB and life satisfaction. In conclusion, the chapter provides critical insights into the perception of life satisfaction among employees, understanding the WLB, and provides tailored approaches and practices for improving the lives of the employees belonging to the IT or Retail sectors.
