ABSTRACT

To solve the problem of corrosion of chloride ions existing in steel bars during underwater repair of reinforced concrete pile foundations, a complete construction technology of cathodic protection is proposed to extend the service life of the pile after repair. The technology uses a self-designed sacrificial anode framework with high-efficiency features. Underwater welding operations are substantially reduced, as well as to ensure stable and reliable construction quality. The practice of a project in Zhanjiang Port proved that the cathodic protection system had provided adequate protection on the pile foundation.
