ABSTRACT

Urban transportation is the foundation and forerunner of national economic and social development and plays a vital role in economic prosperity and improving people's quality of life. With the continuous expansion of the urban scale, urban transportation has become a key driving force to promote urban economic development and an important part of urban sustainable development. Sustainable development is the direction of urban transportation development in the future. How to plan the traffic condition reasonably in the process of urban expansion is particularly important. The traditional evaluation index system of urban transportation sustainable development includes traffic function, environmental impact, social economy, resource utilization, etc. Based on the research of relevant theories of urban transportation sustainable development, this paper analyzed and discussed the potential impact of the changes in the center of gravity on the sustainable development of urban transportation with the method of remote sensing. Based on the nighttime light data of Jinan City from 2012 to 2017, this paper selected two indicators, the center of gravity of city scope and the center of gravity of light data, as the reference basis for urban transportation sustainable development planning, and discussed the possibility of incorporating them into the sustainable development system. The research results showed that compared with other regions, the spatial expansion of the central area of Jinan was rapid. The urban built-up area had the largest expansion speed in 2016, presenting a planar filling development, while the development speed in 2015 was relatively slow. Transportation planning was more stressful in urban centers than in surrounding areas. The center of gravity in the urban area was stable and presented a linear distribution in space. The center of gravity of light data developed in the southeastern part of the urban area from 2012 to 2015, and migrated to the north from 2016 to 2017, with a large expansion of the urban area. Urban traffic dredging planning policy should be adjusted reasonably according to the changes in the position of the center of gravity. The research showed that the center of gravity of urban development can be used as a factor in the evaluation system of urban 170transportation sustainable development. This paper will have a certain reference value for the analysis of urban transportation sustainable development under the environment of big data.
