ABSTRACT

With the acceleration of the urbanization process in China, the massive transportation system construction and expansion have already become increasingly essential in metropolitans all around the country. This study constructs an optimized passenger behavior simulation model through the combined appliance of the original SFM and multi-agent method, which can be implied in the public transit practical operations’ analysis and bus docking duration estimation. Five different categories of social forces control each passenger agent's movement. At the same time, several aspects of behavioral rules are also introduced to illustrate the simulated agents’ motions more closely to the real passengers’ behaviors during the dwelling stage. The simulation process can be displayed in a graphic visualization module, which can assist researchers or operators in observing the dynamic status of waiting for passengers on the platform and the approaching buses. This paper hopes to offer some references for the construction of bus systems in the city.
