ABSTRACT

In practical projects, the frequency method effectively detects the cable force of bridge stay cables. This method is mainly used to measure the cable force of contact stay cables through the cable force test sensor. However, this method has the disadvantages of low efficiency, weak signal, and the need for manual auxiliary calculation. In this paper, the non-contact microwave radar cable force measurement technology is proposed to detect the cable force of the cable-stayed bridge after completing the expressway cable-stayed bridge. The microwave radar detects the cable force of the existing Guangzhou cable-stayed bridge Huanglongdai Bridge. The principle and process of the microwave radar cable force measurement are introduced, and the results are compared with the method of tying acceleration sensors. The results show that the change rate of cable force measurement by non-contact microwave radar and contact sensor binding method is kept within 10%, which shows that the microwave radar cable force measurement method is highly reliable. At the same time, this method has the advantages of high measurement efficiency, short measurement time, significant spectrum signal characteristics, simultaneous measurement of multiple cables. It is not limited by weather, site, and cable length, which shows that the non-contact microwave radar cable force measurement technology has strong practical value.
