ABSTRACT
There are 79 pure freshwater disappearance fish species in Sri Lanka and among them, 54 species are endemic to the island. Another 24 fish species are disappearance both freshwater and brackish or migrating to the saltwater water, and four species are endemic to the island. Meantime another 30 species are exotic species that were introduced to the island on different occasions.
