ABSTRACT

In this paper, in order to improve the seismic performance of wide double-deck viaducts under seismic action, the suitable restraint system of a wide double-deck viaduct is studied. Based on the wide three-column double-deck portal pier viaduct, the finite element analysis model of the bridge is established. The restraint systems of plate rubber bearings and seismic isolation rubber bearings are selected for comparison. By analyzing the bending moment of the pier and pile and bearing displacement under the action of longitudinal + vertical and transverse + vertical ground motions, the seismic responses of the wide three-column double-deck portal pier viaduct with different pier heights under the two restraint systems are studied and compared. Furthermore, the seismic performance of the bridge with a plate rubber bearing restraint system is evaluated. The results show that the plate rubber bearing restraint system is recommended for the wide double-deck viaduct, and the seismic performance of the wide double-deck viaduct using the plate rubber bearing restraint system meets the requirements.
