ABSTRACT

Glass-Fiber-Reinforced Plastic (GFRP) has many advantages as a construction material, including low cost, low density, high strength, and the ability to resist corrosion. A GFRP-Steel composite fabricated bridge inspection channel with the advantages of good durability, lightweight, and easy replacement is proposed, and the mechanical performance of the GFRP grid plate is tested. Firstly, the basic mechanical performance parameters of the GFRP grid plate are obtained through a three-point bending test, and the mechanical stability of the grid plate is studied through several groups of tests under the same load cases. Finally, a numerical model for the composite laminate of GFRP grid panels is proposed based on the literature and experimental results. Compared with the test results, the simulation analysis can better simulate the qualified grid performance, which can provide a basis for the later structural design and optimization analysis.
