ABSTRACT

The finite element model is established by ABAQUS software, and the mechanical properties of reinforced concrete beams with different sections strengthened by pasting carbon fiber reinforced polymer (CFRP) plates are analyzed. Through the finite element simulation analysis, the mechanical properties of reinforced concrete beams with different section sizes strengthened by CFRP plates are significantly improved. However, it is shown through the data that the poor bonding ability of CFRPs to concrete beams causes the ductility of CFRPs to peel off before it reaches its limit, which is highly susceptible to brittle damage and affects the safety of the structure.
