ABSTRACT

According to traditional manual inspection methods, such as steel ruler and total station, the corresponding quality inspection work of bridges is time-consuming, labor-intensive, and error-prone. The actual measurement work is often affected by various conditions, such as large bridge spans and the height of bridge towers. Using three-dimensional laser scanning technology could quickly obtain point cloud data of cable-stayed bridges. Through internal data processing such as splicing, orientation, noise reduction, resampling, packaging, and slice fitting of the point cloud data, the geometric dimensions of the bridge structure can be realized by the rapid extraction of elevation information. This paper could provide technical support for the acceptance measurement of geometric parameters of newly built bridges and subsequent bridge repairs.
