ABSTRACT
As the main carrier of the traditional culture of the Chinese nation, traditional villages have become the focus of attention of all sectors of society in recent years. Guilin, the most important gathering place of traditional villages in Guangxi, has formed a large number of traditional villages with local characteristics because of its long history and rich cultural relics. Through the research and systematic sorting of various research achievements of traditional villages in Guilin in the past ten years, this paper discusses their historical evolution, spatial form, cultural landscape, protection methods and development strategies. Then it points out the deficiencies in the current research process, research methods and research system. It puts forward prospects, hoping to have some inspiration for the future research and development of traditional villages in Guilin.
