ABSTRACT

The indoor thermal environment of sports buildings is closely related to the outdoor physical environment, which has a strong regional character. In order to study the thermal acceptable range of sports crowd exercising in hot summer and cold winter areas, this paper conducts a field survey of Xiangyang National Fitness Center in winter climate. Through the subjective questionnaire of the sports crowd and the analysis of indoor and outdoor thermal environment data, it is concluded that the thermal acceptable operating temperature range and upper limit of the sports crowd in Xiangyang National Fitness Center in winter under the five conditions of sitting, walking at 2 km/h, walking at 4 km/h, walking at 6 km/h and running at 8 km/h are 15.6°C–22.7°C, 14.5°C–19.9°C, 13.6°C–18.7°C, 13.1°C–19.3°C and 10.9°C. This study helps to better understand the thermal perception of people with different intensities of sports in the real environment of hot summer and cold winter areas in winter and provides a basis for the passive design of natural ventilated indoor sports space in the Xiangyang area.
