ABSTRACT

As a special large-span structure in ancient China, the woven timber arch was reflected in the painting “Riverside Scene during Qingming Festival” in the Song Dynasty. But limited materials and the traditional processing technology restrict the development of traditional Chinese timber structures. With the development of new materials, new technology and the demand for modern architectural space span, modern timber architecture inherited the advantages of traditional timber buildings. It began to explore timber large-span public buildings design and construction. Starting from the traditional timber arch structure, this study takes the platform space of Wuyishan high-speed railway station as an example to explore the possibility of the traditional timber arch construction method in the platform design of different types of modern high-speed railway stations.
