ABSTRACT
In recent times where information technology (IT) and the world wide web (WWW) came into being and changed the lives of many by promoting as well as improving the communication level, collaborating with others, resource sharing, participating in active learning, and sharing knowledge and education in distance mode. It has been observed that in the field of information and communication technology (ICT), the efforts made in the continuous development have proved that compared to traditional strategies of learning, electronic learning (e-learning) has become more effective and efficient in long-term educational process. This chapter is mainly based on the growing awareness of e-learning in the field of higher education. The chapter depicts the ecosystem of e-learning and also the effectiveness as well as the challenges of e-learning, which will further solve in formatting the problems in higher education. The chapter further discusses the e-learning ecosystem during this pandemic situation and also how it has helped higher education to grow gradually with the help of blended learning. With the aid of e-learning, the higher education systems can transform the quality of e-education services.
