ABSTRACT

The present chapter is dedicated to the investigation of the carbonization of melamine formaldehyde lacquer modified by ammonium polyphosphate and copper–carbon mesocomposite for creating anticorrosion intumescent fireproofing coating. Thorough investigations of the obtained materials modified by mesocomposite are of scientific and practical interest. The investigations were carried out with the use of X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction, atomic force microscopy, optical microscopy, and, also, thermal and fire tests according to the State Standard. The investigation and test results indicate a significant improvement in thermal stability and fireprotecting properties of coating modified by ammonium polyphosphate and copper–carbon mesocomposite due to the improvement of the quality of formed coked foam.
