ABSTRACT

Polymer nanocomposites have outstanding features that their components individually lack. The properties, namely, shape, size, surface area, and optical and catalytic activity, can be fine-tuned for desired applications. Their light weight and flexibility make them suitable for environmental and industrial applications. One of the major environmental issues, we are facing today, is water pollution. Proper water management and reclamation are very important. The best method to conserve water is wastewater recycling. The use of polymer nanocomposites for water treatment and remediation offers a solution to recycling. This chapter highlights various aspects of water treatment by polymer nanocomposites.
