ABSTRACT

The synthesis and physicochemical properties of chemically cross-linked hydrogels based on polyacrylamide and chitosan are considered in the work. Interpenetrating polymer networks of both cross-linked polyacrylamide and polyacrylamide grafted on chitosan by radical polymerization were obtained. It was studied that equilibrium swelling properties depend on the pH value of the solution and the composition of the gels. The chemical structure of the obtained hydrogels was characterized using IR spectroscopy.
