ABSTRACT
This chapter provides an overview on how game theory can be used to model romance scam scenarios. Using game theory to develop an automated means for detecting romance scams can be an effective way to protect unsuspecting individuals from financial and personal theft. Furthermore, it can improve the overall quality of interactions across dating sites and increase their credibility, making the Internet safer for everyone.
