ABSTRACT

This paper deals with the test results of recycled coarse aggregate for concrete sampled from two processing plants in the suburbs of Tokyo. The quantity and kinds of impurities in demoilition waste of concrete were examined and three washing methods for removing impurities were tested. The physical properties of recycled coarse aggregate, and the compressive strength, drying shrinkage and carbonation rate of washed recycle-coarse aggregate concrete were tested to make clear the relationship between the washing methods of impurities and the physical properties of concrete made from them.
