ABSTRACT
Polyurethanes (PUs) are a large and versatile family of elastic and rigid engineering materials containing the urethane unit: —NH—CO—Ο—. PUs are customarily prepared by reacting di- or multiisocyanates with —OH-capped polyesters in the presence of a curing agent such as an amine or a polyol. These polymers exhibit an outstanding combination of properties and are being used in a large variety of rigid-flexible, elastomeric, thermoplastic-elastomeric, coating, foam, etc., applications.
