ABSTRACT
During the late 1950s and early 1960s aromatic polymers were produced for the development of heat-resistant polymers. More recently, rodlike aromatic polymers have attracted considerable attention as ultra-high-strength, high-modulus fibers. Because of the conjugated moieties in main chains, aromatic polymers are also expected to be highly electrically conductive or photosensitive materials.
