ABSTRACT
EPM and EPDM are the ASTM nomenclature for copolymers and terpolymers of ethylene and propylene. The “M” denotes a chemically saturated polymer chain of the poly-methylene type, which makes up the repeating units (CH2), or “vertebrae,” in the spine of the polymer. In EPDM, a small amount of a third monomer, a diene, is introduced.
