ABSTRACT
Vanadium salts have been shown to have insulinlike effects on glucose levels in streptozotocin (STZ)-induced diabetic rats (1,2). However, toxic effects on various tissues and on the serum concentration of different analytes have been reported (3). The present investigation studied the influence of sodium vanadate on serum protein and fructosamine concentration in STZ-diabetic rats.
