ABSTRACT
In this paper, the convexity of the piecewise quadratic Powell-Sabin finite element is studied. A geometric characterization of the convexity of the associated Bézier-nets is given. Finally, convex C 1surfaces based on Powell-Sabin elements are also characterized.
