ABSTRACT

The systematic and critical analysis of the quality of clinical care, including the procedures used for diagnosis, treatment and care, the associated use of resources and the resulting outcomes and quality of life for patient. Clinical Audit is only one of the special interest/focus groups provided by a organisation, which was established to bring together individuals and organisations who have an interest in continuously improving the quality of healthcare in the UK and in furthering the knowledge related to the subject of quality in healthcare. Clinical Resource and Audit Group (CRAG) is the lead body within the Scottish Executive Health Department, promoting clinical effectiveness in Scotland. CRAG’s remit touches on a wide range of issues concerned with the quality of clinical care, including clinical audit and national audit projects. Stevens and Raftery define healthcare needs as ‘the population’s ability to benefit from healthcare’. Information is commonly collected in three ways: epidemiological needs assessment, comparative needs assessment, and corporate needs assessment.
