ABSTRACT
Ce-TZP alumina composites with alumina as the minor phase have excellent mechanical properties. Alumina has been dispersed as an intergranular phase up to 50 volume percent. Their sintering, mechanical properties and microstructure have been studied. The formation of β-alumina from impurities present in the powder was noticed in the microstructure. This did not substantially affect the properties of the materials.
