ABSTRACT

In this chapter, we will explain in concrete detail the information necessary for conducting experiments based on the methods and measurement developed so far in the various fields of coastal engineering and geotechnical engineering. Particularly, by explaining the information with examples of experiments in each field, we tried to provide information useful for those who are going to carry out experiments in the future. At the end of this chapter, examples of past experiments on complex fluid–ground problems, which is an important theme of this book, are given and issues related to the handling of geomaterials are identified and sorted out.
