Infrastructure inspection and monitoring has become increasingly important over the past decade as awareness of the perishable nature of construction materials has grown. Dam and bridge failures are among the worst infrastructure disasters, both in terms of loss of life and economic impact [1]. One of the most fatal cases in recent years is the failure of the Morandi Bridge in Genoa, Italy.
