ABSTRACT

Based on pathophysiology, this paper compares the occurrence of coal mine accidents to the progression of a disease. Based on the understanding of the etiology and pathogenesis, especially the dialectical relationships between causes and conditions of the disease, the analysis of the general rules and the basic mechanism, it puts forward the coal mine accident model of ventilation, fire, dust, and gas grounded by the safety science theory, accident model, and the causation theory. The accident model comprises the comprehensive effect of people and material factors (the limbs), environmental factors (the body), information factors (the humoral mechanism), and management factors (the neural mechanism). Based on the actual production of coal mines, we analyze the process of ventilation and prevention of accidents in coal mines with these five factors and then establish the coal mine accident cause model of ventilation, fire, dust, and gas, which provides new ideas and perspectives on accident research.
