ABSTRACT

The purpose of this paper is to discuss the effect of bamboo-steel fiber on the mechanical properties of concrete specimens. According to 0.3%, 0.6%, and 0.9% of bamboo fiber volume and 0.5%, 1%, and 1.5% of steel fiber volume, 20 groups of concrete test blocks mixed with hybrid fiber were prepared. Then, the compressive and flexural strength of concrete blocks and the collapse of concrete mixtures were tested. The results show that the collapse degree of concrete mixtures with bamboo-steel fiber has a certain decrease, and the amount of mixed fiber has a great influence on the collapse degree. The addition of bamboo-steel fiber can enhance the compressive strength of concrete to a certain extent and has a greater influence on the bending strength. When the volume of bamboo fiber is 0.6%, the volume of steel fiber is 1%, the compressive strength of concrete increases by 47.1%, and the bending strength increases by 77.1%.
