ABSTRACT

The failure mechanism of “strong beam weak column” mostly has in reinforced concrete frame structures under seismic action. Therefore, the reliability analysis of the reinforced concrete frame strong column weak beam design is required to be carried out at the seismic rating of 1, 2, 3, and 4, and the fortification intensities are 7, 8. This paper statistically analyzed the random variable probability characteristics of the performance function of strong column weak beam design, calculated the reliability index of strong column weak beam of reinforced concrete frames at the seismic rating of 1, 2, 3, and 4 by Monte Carlo method, and analyzed whether the reliability of the strong column weak beam design is affected by the load ratio. The result showed that the reliability index of the strong column weak beam of reinforced concrete frames at the seismic rating of 1, 2, 3, and 4 were 2.204, 1.751, 1.233, and 0.943, and the reliability was less affected by the load.
