Speeding up the protection, inheritance, and development of traditional historical buildings is a problem that must be faced in the process of urban cultural image shaping and planning renewal in the new period. Therefore, this paper takes the protection and development of historical buildings as the research object. It takes advantage of the specific advantages of VR technology, network information technology, and computer application technology. It takes 3ds Max as the modeling tool and Unity3D virtual reality engine as the development platform and builds a three-dimensional visual interactive platform for the virtual simulation of historical buildings. The platform will convert the basic data such as topography, appearance, technology, and materials of historical buildings into design materials. It will complete the design and production of three-dimensional digital models and combine Web3D technology to complete multi-dimensional displays. In addition, the overall design of the platform adopts B/S architecture, and the design and deployment of various functions and API interfaces are completed according to MVC mode in the APS.NET environment. Choosing Windows IIS as a Web Server can provide users with interactive interfaces and achieve better development control. The construction of the platform not only is conducive to the protection and inheritance of historical buildings but also puts forward a new direction for the innovation and development of urban planning and the cultural tourism industry.
