ABSTRACT

Modern technology and devices such as smartphones, tablets, and gadgets have become integral to everyday life. These technologies are also applied in different types of businesses, education institutions, and all other service-related activities. This survey-based study used UTAUT 2 model to perceive the use and adoption of technology for a spiritual purpose among Christians. The adapted questionnaire was used to collect data and received 200 responses from Christians living in India through an online questionnaire. The study revealed that Effort Expectancy, Social Influence, and Habit Behaviour significantly impact technology use. Using technology for spiritual purposes has created a habit among Christians, leading them to use it post-COVID-19. The study found that the highest user of technology for spiritual purposes is in the age group of 20 to 39, around 66.30%. The study recommends that Church authorities highlight the importance of spiritual activities by effectively using technology to develop one’s faith, helping the believers to remain connected to God through extensive use of technology by providing various spiritual activities even post-COVID-19.
