ABSTRACT

202Plants are facing many biotic and abiotic stresses while interacting with their adjacent environment. Sudden environmental changes are the cause of many stresses faced by plants. Some stresses are very dangerous for the proper growth and development of plant, for example, cold stress especially in their flowering stage. The best way to alleviate cold stress, plant adapts in many ways. To increase the efficiency of nutrient uptake, tree plants can make use of novel resources, such as modification of the rhizosphere environment and symbiotic association with mycorrhizal fungi. Mycorrhizal association plays a very important role in helping plants to develop tolerance and can fight against cold stress. Arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) involve in many transcriptional modifications and also involve in the regulation of various useful genes which can tolerate the cold stress in plants. Mycorrhiza plays a significant role in developing tolerance in the plant against the low temperature which includes ROS (reactive oxygen species) system, osmotic adjustment, regulating hydraulic conductance in roots, improving respiration and photosynthesis rate and nutrients uptake.
