ABSTRACT

Blockchain technology has the potential to play a major role in the Artificial Internet of Things (AIoT) networks by providing a decentralized way to store and manage the vast amounts of data generated by connected devices. Some ways Blockchain can be used in the AIoT include secure data storage, decentralized identity management, and automated transactions. Blockchain can provide a secure and tamper-proof way to store data generated by connected devices in AIoT networks. This can help to ensure the integrity and accuracy of the data and protect it from unauthorized access or tampering. It can be used to create decentralized digital identities for devices in AIoT, allowing them to securely authenticate and communicate with each other without the need for a central authority. Furthermore, it can enable the automatic execution of transactions between connected devices in AIoT based on pre-defined rules and conditions. This can help to streamline processes and reduce the need for manual intervention. However, several aspects of Blockchain technology are important to understand before using Blockchain technology in AIoT applications. These include the distributed nature of Blockchain networks, the use of cryptography to secure transactions, the concept of consensus algorithms, and the potential for smart contracts and other decentralized applications. This chapter will first holistically introduce Blockchain technology and then discuss how it can solve specific problems of the AIoT environment.
