ABSTRACT

Civilization has witnessed constant deliberations on human rights. The development of technology followed the journey of human rights. Throughout human history, technology has been vital in the development of humans. In the age of technology, most aspects of humans have been impacted. However, certain fundamental rights have become vulnerable; privacy is one such right. Among the most cherished rights is the right to privacy, a fundamental component of the right to life and personal liberty. Modern technology allows us to live in a virtual world that we have created. Through this virtual world, we are connected and vulnerable to an invasion of our privacy. Artificial intelligence (AI) is another hybrid version of the technology that poses a more significant threat to the privacy of individuals. Using AI to create and manipulate personal data is a threat to the user’s privacy in this world, where information is generated at every 218level since it has no ethical constraints and may act autonomously. This chapter intends to examine the impact of AI and its challenges towards the right to privacy.
