ABSTRACT

During the past ten years, Internet of Things (IoT) platforms have expanded to become a global giant, engulfing every aspect of our daily lives and boosting human life with their uncontrolled smart services. Without actively searching for knowledge and data patterns, machine learning namely ML enables IoT to glean hidden perceptions from the wealth of vital data and become genuinely pervasive. IoT cannot survive the demands of individual users, enterprises, and governments in the future without ML. IoT’s main objective is to help us understand what is going on in our background and enable automated decision-making using clever techniques that resemble human decision-making. In this chapter, we categorize and analyze the research on ML-reliant IoT from several angles. Next, we used the IoT real-time application as a case study to illustrate how it may be used to address social issues. We also examine IoT’s difficulties from many angles. Utilizing IoT potential and challenges can help our society become more sustainable and affluent.
