ABSTRACT

Climate change can be defined as a change in the climate caused by human activities which results in the loss of the natural environment and affects the economic and financial development of the country. Climate change poses threat to all living things, countries, and different sectors of businesses due to the consumption of fossil fuels and increase in greenhouse gas, which at the same time affects the financial development of the country. The purpose of this study is to determine the role of financial and climate change in the existing plans and policies. In line with this goal, the policies made for climate change in Turkey and the economic and financial development in different countries have been reviewed. Tourism is one of the most important sectors that contributes to the development of all countries, influencing the growth of financial and economic development. As a result of rising climate change, tourism sector has become most affected. For this purpose, tourism policies are reviewed, published publications are scanned and analyzed. As a result of present studies on climate and financial change, tourism industry 210will begin to have an impact on the future, as the negative and positive outcomes of climate change on the tourism industry, which is one of the victims of climate change, may also contribute to this process. Reduction and formation of greenhouse gas mitigation actions should be taken by the tourism sector and adaptation measures should be identified to reduce the effects of climate change. Also, at the end of the study, it was found that although policies have been developed a lot, the issue of climate change has not been given much space, and tourism strongly influences the growth of economic and financial development of countries.
