ABSTRACT

Energy diplomacy is a concept intertwined with foreign policy and national security. Irrespective of its self-sustaining ability the demand of every functioning nation is the proper usage of energy resources. This article focuses on building international relations across borders and facilitating nations with economic and energy partnerships. Taking India and Nepal hydro power project as its case study it further focuses on science and technological partnership and the generation of economical and energy diplomacy. Energy diplomacy is ensuring energy security. With massive usage and limited resources renewable energy resources have started to play a pivotal role. The article specifically looks at the integration of energy diplomacy into foreign policy. This paper also provides an analysis of how bilateral energy diplomacy can support the interest of India in Nepal.
