ABSTRACT

The current work is an effort to evaluate the instrument used to teach English grammar, particularly the production of negative sentences. Being an experimental study, it includes a pilot study, a pre-test, a teaching intervention, and a post-test. Additionally, both control and experimental group settings are used. When gathering data, a questionnaire is utilized as a research tool and distributed. This study looks at the mistakes that students made on the pre-test. As the preferred sampling technique, judgmental sampling is used. The investigator then uses the Cognitive Code Method and Mobile Assisted Language Learning to combine pedagogical intervention after classifying and tabulating the errors. Ultimately, a post-test that acted as an achievement exam is used to evaluate the impact of the instructional intervention and the performance gap between the experimental group and the control group. The customized Android app has shown to be a successful educational tool for enhancing the grammar abilities of teacher candidates in the Chennai area, according to the study’s conclusions.
