ABSTRACT

In order to arrive at novel conclusions, design thinkers employ a wide variety of methods. The use of narrative in the design process is becoming increasingly common. The process of designing with a story in mind. As a component of the larger design thinking process, the storytelling technique has been investigated at varying depths in virtually all design disciplines. Global student populations are unconsciously employing this method to generate fresh ideas for product design. The term “interior design” refers to the art of planning and creating aesthetically pleasing and functional interior environments. Each area has its backstory from which the user’s context and actions may be gleaned. One approach that might help with this is using fiction writing while planning an interior space. In the context of design education, this investigation may lead to the development of more effective strategies for reaching acceptable interior design solutions. This study aims to investigate and experiment with the design process as a narrative for the development of original answers to problems.
