ABSTRACT

Women in engineering are vital to national growth. It improves women’s quality of life. Men and women choose various engineering careers. Daily terminology, in which women are soft and technology is rigorous, matches the conflict between being a woman and an engineer. Men dominate civil engineering, whereas women are underrepresented. Current literature discusses women’s problems in this profession. Long and inflexible work hours, limited networking opportunities, and harassment and discrimination are problems. These concerns cause women limited job prospects and stress. These issues frequently lead to low career prospects and high levels of stress for women. Women’s responsibilities in engineering, particularly in civil engineering, are presented and discussed in this study with a focus on the obstacles, challenges, and opportunities. This will help women have a better grasp of civil engineering careers and educational options.
