Ship impact from a general cargo vessel on the Bergsøysund floating bridge in Norway

This article gives a description of the events on the night of 2^nd of march 2023, up to and including when the general cargo vessel MV Tornado allided with the Bergsøysund floating bridge in Norway. The damages to the bridge and the ship are described and illustrated, and attempts are made to estimate the impact energy and forces involved, all in order to give a general impression of the impact. The possible long-term consequences of the ship impact are also discussed, and recommendations for further work are made.
