ABSTRACT

In this chapter, a hardware design of a quantitative staging classification in the computer-aided diagnosis (CAD) system for colorectal endoscopic images with narrow-band imaging (NBI) magnification is proposed. The proposed CAD system for real-time endoscopic video is implemented on a customizable embedded digital signal processor (DSP) to achieve high accuracy, high speed, and low power consumption. The proposed CAD system is also provided a quantitative and objective staging index to the doctor more accurately in magnified NBI endoscopic observation.
