ABSTRACT

Automated teller machine (ATM) is a helpful solution for consumers to satisfy their banking needs. Currently, many consumers choose to perform transactions using ATMs rather than visiting banks in person. However, ATM’s safety is presently under threat due to a security breach. The increasing number of fraudulent actions carried out on personal identification number (PIN)-based ATM necessitates accurate user identification and authentication in ATMs. Previously proposed technologies are mostly focused on fingerprint scanning and facial recognition. These methods are unreliable due to their vulnerabilities. Thus, we propose a user authentication comprising graphical pattern password, iris recognition, and one-time password, which could be easily adopted and operated with slight modifications to the current system. We also present an encryption mechanism to ensure the pattern password’s security.
