ABSTRACT
This chapter captures the journey of developing the Andhra Pradesh Water Resources Information and Management System (APWRIMS), which uses machine learning, artificial intelligence, and big data to depict real-time data on state water resources and present data-driven insights for decision-makers of the state. Water is managed in the state through APWRIMS, which measures the total amount of water in the state and how it spreads across the area, including major and medium projects, the purposes for usage of water, groundwater and freshwater supply and depletion levels, water pollution levels, and strategies for water conservation in the state.
