ABSTRACT
The SDG India Index tracks the states’ progress on sixteen SDG parameters like health, education, economic growth, climate change, and environment. This chapter delves in the process of transforming the national-level SDG indicators into state-level indicators that would appropriately measure the SDG, followed by the challenges involved in acquiring recent data to create the index, and finally discusses the process involved in creating the first state SDG index for India.
