ABSTRACT

The transition to renewable energy resources, particularly solar energy, is crucial to mitigate environmental problems caused by conventional energy sources Photovoltaic (PV) modules, which convert sunlight into electricity, play a crucial role in achieving a clean and green energy future. However, the maintenance of PV modules poses challenges that hinder their widespread adoption. Insufficient and inefficient cleaning methods, as well as low return on investment (ROI), have hindered the efficient utilization of solar energy in both urban and rural installations. The benefits and drawbacks of these methods are examined, along with their suitability for different applications. Active cleaning as well as passive methods are evaluated. The research highlights the importance of efficient cleaning methods to maintain the implementation and longevity of PV modules. The benefits, drawbacks, and suitability of these methods for different applications are examined. The findings emphasize the significance of efficient PV cleaning to maximise energy output and return on investment.
